An EcoVillage is an intentional community, planned from the ground up, where neighbors share land, values and governance, living in balance with nature. It's not a condominium, not a resort, not a subdivision. It's a different way of dwelling.

The founders

and the story that reached the Cerrado.

Ashiyana was born from a personal decision by Chris and Zizo, founders who spent 14 years caring for the original retreat centre in Goa, India. More than 20,000 guests passed through there. Each one welcomed like family.

They didn't come to Brazil to sell land. They came because they, too, needed a home: real, permanent, planted in Brazilian soil. They searched for the right place for years. When they set foot in the Chapada dos Veadeiros, they knew: this was it.

The team that built Ashiyana includes an organic architect, an agroforestry specialist, a local builder and a bilingual lawyer. Real people, with verifiable track records, with a fixed address in the region. You're not buying a promise. You're joining a community that's already standing.

You're standing on a plateau 1.8 billion years old: one of the oldest geological formations on Earth. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. The world's largest tropical savanna, the most biodiverse on the planet, with 30% of Brazil's biodiversity beneath your feet.

The region sits atop a quartz crystal bed of more than 4,000m², one of the largest in the world. Crossed by the 14th Parallel (the same latitude as Machu Picchu), it has been considered one of the planet's major energy centers for decades.

The Cerrado has a climate defined by two clear seasons. Never excessively cold or hot. It's a rhythm that dialogues with nature, with abundant light year-round and an altitude that keeps the air lighter.

Dry season · May to September

A dry, sunny winter. Intense blue skies, warm days and cool nights. Waterfalls run crystal clear, trails stay open. It's tourism's high season. Brazil's most star-filled sky happens here.

Rainy season · October to April

A summer of short, heavy afternoon rains. The Cerrado turns green, waterfalls swell. Pleasant temperatures, rarely above 30°C thanks to the altitude (1,200m). A time for planting and renewal of the land.

We built Ashiyana because we needed it too. Fourteen years of welcoming people in Goa taught us one simple thing: home isn't a house. It's the feeling of being received, whole.

Here in the Cerrado, we replanted that same care into every path we opened, every document we registered, every neighbor we chose to welcome. We're not selling you a plot of land. We're opening a door, and that door only makes sense if the entry is genuine.

Ashiyana is a nonprofit association formally registered at the notary's office in Alto Paraíso de Goiás. Each plot is tied to a clear membership framework, with documented Bylaws, Internal Regulations and a Building Manual. Our bilingual lawyer accompanies every new member from start to finish, ensuring full transparency around rights, duties and asset security.

There's significant freedom, but within guidelines that protect the ethos of the place: bio-construction prioritized, harmony with the landscape, local materials whenever possible. Our Building Manual is clear, and our organic architect is available to support your design. The idea is that your home is yours, but that it dialogues with the whole.

No. Some members live there full-time, others use it as a second home, and others split their time between Brazil and abroad. What we ask is that when you're present, you show up fully, participating in the community on your own terms.

Through regular assemblies where collective decisions are made together, from managing shared areas to rules of coexistence. Our Internal Regulations are the foundation of it all. Every voice matters, but the structure is clear enough to keep personal conflicts from paralyzing the collective.

Prices vary depending on the plot chosen (location within the territory, topography, view). There's also a monthly membership fee that sustains the upkeep of shared spaces, security, ecological infrastructure and governance. We share the full price table in a direct conversation, because every case deserves context, not a number in isolation.
