Health & Travel Documents

Do I need vaccinations to travel to Brazil?

There is no official vaccination requirement for foreigners entering Brazil. The Brazilian government suggests keeping your vaccination schedule updated according to your home country's guidelines.

  • Yellow fever: recommended for those visiting areas with vaccination requirements (ACRV); take at least 10 days before travel.
  • Measles and rubella: important due to high transmissibility.
  • Polio: a booster is recommended, especially in areas with risk or outbreaks.
  • Diphtheria and tetanus: a complete vaccination schedule is advised.

Your vaccination card should accompany you along with your passport. An International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP) is only required if your destination or transit country demands it — it is not required by Brazil.
